Older Drivers: RAA is committed to identifying mobility issues relevant to all drivers and advocating on their behalf. Through programs such as Years Ahead and CarFit, the RAA are involved in providing older drivers with support and education.
- Years Ahead is an RAA road safety awareness program especially designed for older road users. The program involves a one hour presentation, and is available free of charge to organised groups of older people throughout most of South Australia.
- CarFit is RAA’s latest educational program designed to provide advice and information to older drivers. CarFit offers tailored individual advice on how you and your car can “fit” together to maximise safety and comfort.

Medical tests for older drivers to cease
South Australian drivers over 70 years of age will no longer be required to have mandatory drivers licence medical testing each year for their car licence.
Volunteers drivers have an important role in assisting residents of our community with the provision of transport to services and appointments they would not normally be able to access.
