Service type: Emergency Medical Transport
Who can access (eligibility): Members of SA Ambulance
Other information: Emergency and non urgent ambulance transport can be provided depending on the level of cover. (Ambulance Cover Extras) can be used for non emergency transport – membership costs apply.
Non emergency ambulances take members to essential medical treatment. A letter is required from a medical practitioner stating that the treatment is medically necessary and transport by ambulance is the only medically suitable form of transport.
Medical tests for older drivers to cease
South Australian drivers over 70 years of age will no longer be required to have mandatory drivers licence medical testing each year for their car licence.
Volunteers drivers have an important role in assisting residents of our community with the provision of transport to services and appointments they would not normally be able to access.
